Winter sports

Not only is Maloja an ideal starting point for mountain excursions but, at 1,815 m above sea level,
it is also one of the best-equipped and most highly rated ski areas in all of Switzerland.
The Engadin Ski Marathon, the most important event on the Swiss sporting calendar, sets off directly in front of the Maloja Palace Hotel.
The Maloja Palace Hotel is situated at the highest point of the Engadin, close by
Switzerland's most renowned ski areas, which are only a few minutes away.
Maloja is therefore the ideal base for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and snowboarding.

Guests can practise winter sports in the following places

(listed in order of distance from the hotel):

Cross-country ski trail adjacent to the hotel.
It provides access to over 200 km of runs in one of the largest ski areas in Europe.
Alpine skiing at Maloja: the Piz Aela ski lift is just 600 metres from the hotel in the direction of the Maloja pass.
Black, red and blue runs
The Corvatsch Furcellas ski area with departures from Sils Maria and from Surlej.
The ski area, which offers skiing at altitudes of between 1,815 and 3,300 metres a.s.l. and includes 120 km of runs,
is particularly suitable for skiing into the late afternoon
The Suvretta-Corviglia ski area, which offers skiing at altitudes of between 3,300 and 1,800 m a.s.l. with over 120 km of runs,
can be accessed from four points: the chairflift at Suvretta-Chasellas, the cableway at Signal,
